It’s always something. Whether Dad’s weekend project has consumed the entire two-car garage, or mom’s home office has taken over the guestroom, or a new baby is on the way and there’s not room enough for the other two children now- it is the same story. We could always use more space! FWD Builders can find a place for that space or design new space that will blend seamlessly with the existing home.

This view is the rear of the house with the garage to the left and the main part of the house to the right. The house is two stories with the master downstairs.
The Challenge
Four teen-aged children, each needing a bedroom, bathroom and a living area of their own. The owners wanted to have all of the children’s bedrooms on the second floor and wanted to create an additional living area to be used by the children as an activity area, home theater and living room where they could be as loud or as messy as kids can be without disturbing the household.

The Solution
We added 2 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and a game room over the garage of the house. The garage was widened by about 4 feet to allow space for the rooms upstairs. The game room has 6 skylights, a wet bar and a “Nintendo Center” with a separate storage space/ homework and computer desk built in.

The same view showing the additional space. The skylights are over the game room. The 2 new doors house storage for pool toys and a refrigerator for refreshments at poolside.
